WELCOME to the PRECLINICAL TRAINING INSTITUTE

The Preclinical Training Institute is not a place, but an idea, a concept whose time has come. The idea is to offer training courses for preclinical development scientists in both the pharmaceutical industry and in the preclinical contract research world. The lines between the two industries aren't quite as clear as they used to be.

Preclinical studies, and often times full IND-enabling programs are generally fully outsourced by small and large biotech companies, and increasingly, by large pharmaceutical companies. Training of staff in both sectors has traditionally been left to in-house programs and to the availability of qualified senior staff.

In the past few years, we have seen an increased level of activity in preclinical testing, with the CROs taking on additional capacity and staff, while many large pharmaceutical companies continue to transition a portion of their scientists out of the lab and into greater project team participation and outsourcing responsibilities.

The mission of the Preclinical Training Institute is to help bridge the gap between the pharmaceutical industry and contract research scientists, while offering valuable training for both. In a focused learning environment, seasoned faculty and committed course attendees will experience the process of mentoring and learning, translating knowledge and expertise into training.

We're here to bring together the forces of knowledge, experience and inquiry - for the benefit of preclinical pharmaceutical scientists and those in related disciplines, and ultimately for the customers they serve.
